1. Bachelor’s Degree: This is the minimum requirement for teaching positions.
2. Teaching License or PGCE: Many positions, especially in international and bilingual schools, require these certifications.
3. Classroom Experience: In some cases at least 2 years of independent teaching experience, preferably with recognized curricula such as IB, AP, A-level, IGCSE, American Common Core, or Cambridge.
4. TEFL Certificate: For English teachers, a 120-hour TEFL certificate is typically required unless you have a degree in Education or Teaching English.
5. Working Visa Requirements: Must meet the requirements for obtaining a working Z visa in China, including a clear criminal background check.
6. Subject Expertise: Some positions, especially at higher levels or in specialized areas like STEAM, business, economics, or psychology, may require specific subject expertise.
